Worsted Weight cotton (approx. 225 yds of main color and 325 yds of contrasting color)
Size I- 5.50mm crochet hook
Size J- 6.00mm crochet hook
Size K- 6.5mm crochet hook
2 Stitch Markers
XS- (28-30” bust)

ch(s) – chain(s), fdc- foundation single crochet, dc – double crochet, LDC- linked double crochet st(s) – stitch(es), RS – right side, WS- wrong side
Linked Double Crochet– Insert hook into the horizontal bar of the previous st, pull up a loop, insert hook into next st, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops, yo, pull through remaining 2 loops.
Bean Stitch– [insert hook into designated stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over] 3 times, pull through all 6 loops on the hook, ch 1, sk 1. <2 sts>
- Ch 1/ch 3 at the beginning of each row does not count as a st
With main color and I hook:
Row 1: fsc 104, sl st in the first fsc to join, being careful not to twist. (RS) <104 sts>
Row 2-11: ch 3, turn, LDC in each st around, join. <104 sts>
Row 12: ch 3, turn, LDC in each st around, join. Fasten off. <104 sts>
Place 1 stitch marker 6 sts to the right of the seam, and the other 6 sts to the left of the seam on Row 12.
With RS facing, lay piece flat, with the seam centered and facing down. With contrasting color, attach yarn in a center stitch of Row 12. This will determine seam placement.
Row 13: ch 3, dc to the stitch marker, ch 6, dc in the st after the next marker and in each of the remaining sts around, join. <98 sts>
Row 14: ch 3, *sk 1, dc, dc in sk st,* rep*-* around, join. <98 sts>
Row 15: ch 1, turn, bean st around, join. <98 sts>
Switch to J hook:
Row 16-25: Rep Rows 14 and 15 (YOU WILL NOW BE TURNING YOUR WORK AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH ROW, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE)
Switch to K hook
Row 26-34: Rep Rows 16 and 17
Row 35: ch 1, DO NOT TURN, sc in each st around. <98 sts>
With maine color and I hook:
RS facing, join yarn 16 sts to the right of the seam in Row 1
Strap Row 1: ch 3, LDC in the next 6 sts. <6 sts>
Strap Row 2-18: ch 3, turn, LDC across. <6 sts>
Fasten off leaving a 12” tail.
Attach yarn in the side of the first stitch of Strap Row 1 and sc evenly around the strap.
Lay piece flat, front facing down. fold strap in half to determine its placement on the back. Using a tapestry needle, whip stitch the strap into place.
RS facing, join yarn 10 sts to the left of the seam in Row 1
Repeat Left Strap instructions.
With contrasting color and I hook:
Row 1: LDC across. <6 sts>
Row 2-11: ch 3, LDC across. <6 sts>
Row 12: ch 3, LDC across. Fasten off leaving an 12” tail. <6 sts>
Wrap band around the seam of the bust piece and whip stitch the ends together and then stitch it in place with a few stitches into the piece a couple of times to prevent it from sliding.
Weave in all ends.
